Livros brasileiros nos EUA
Uma boa notícia. Um novo selo foi lançado para editar e distribuir livros brasileiros aqui nos EUA. E existe muita coisa boa esperando para ganhar uma edição em inglês. Conversando com o professor Joseph Love, brasilianista de UIUC, ele comentou que sente muita falta de uma edição em inglês de Raízes do Brasil. Para ele, uma das razões do sucesso e de tantas edições de Casa Grande & Senzala é o fato de abordar o passado escravocrata, um tema de muito interesse nos EUA. Já em Raízes do Brasil esse tema está implícito mas não tratado da forma como Freyre, e isso poderia ser uma indicação de nunca terem feito uma edição nos EUA deste livro de Sérgio Buarque de Holanda.
